Before you install

  • PicoRunner on an Apple Silicon Mac; tested with 0.3.14 on macOS 26.6.2.
  • Internet access for initial source and dependency download.
  • Core screenshot editing requires no account or server backend.
  • Recent designs and uploaded backgrounds use browser storage; export project files as backups.
  • Native discovery runs the development server; the proposed production manifest and managed updates were not tested through PicoRunner.
  • PicoRunner selected pnpm, but its actual child version was not established; package.json declares pnpm@11.1.1.
  • Native screenshot styling/export and Recents reopening passed; the complete required E2E run finished with 584 passed, 161 skipped and 10 failed and the upstream manifest PR remains held. Recording and other advanced features are not covered by this sanity result.
Source and compatibility evidence

Runtime verified

We tested this app with PicoRunner 0.3.14 on macOS 26.6.2 (25G83), Apple Silicon arm64.

Last checked 2026-10-16.

  • source: Pinned root package declares shotcandy, dev: next dev; packageManager is pnpm@11.1.1. Exact package and license bytes match the runtime archive.
  • source: Pinned license text identifies MIT.
  • install: Canonical import completed in 39 seconds at attempt zero without manual source patches. Tracked source remained unchanged; PicoRunner metadata was added.
  • launch: PicoRunner selected the root dev script (next dev) on its assigned local port; this is native discovery, not the proposed production manifest.
  • health: Installer readiness checks completed and the browser UI was reachable and reloaded during restart checks. Process-level socket ownership was not independently established in every case.
  • smoke: Loaded built-in dashboard screenshot, applied Paper style, rendered3324x2244 preview, exported PNG (4743688bytes) and .shotcandy project.
  • restart: After PicoRunner Stop/Start and page reload, More > Recent designs showed Paper. Reopened with same Paper style and3324x2244 preview.
  • cleanup: stopped via PicoRunner; synthetic recent design and managed source retained. No uninstall or synthetic-data deletion is claimed. The linked batch report records the unrelated-app control incident and unexplained existing-port change.
